• Markers allow users to add descriptions of moments in time to music tracks and videos within a playlist.
• Key use cases are for finding specific solos or scenes in streaming media.

Avalon Sprint Demo #115: "Second Scrubber" feature give users an extra view of structural metadata on the track level of an item. "Avalon Wipeout" is a backend script for wiping out data on the server side for developers who need to reset repositories for testing.
Jen Young from Northwestern University and Julie Hardesty from Indiana University show their work in Avalon to try mapping MODS XML to RDF using the recommendations from the MODS and RDF Descriptive Metadata Subgroup.

The demo for sprint 131 covers recent enhancements to Avalon's playlist features. A users' playlist index is now paginated by default and can be sorted, filtered and searched.
Two improvements to Avalon's playlist functionality are introduced: the ability to copy entire playlists and enhanced marker functionality. Marker icons can now be clicked to navigate to their respective time, and marker descriptions now appear upon mousing over a marker icon. Work on upgrading Avalon's media player to MediaElement 4 is also demonstrated, including the ability to change media player versions during development by using a URL query parameter.
